The Weather Outside is Frightful..
Submitted By lcampbell on Tuesday, February 12, 2008
Here it is the middle of February the weather is windy and cold. Some friends have gone on holidays and others you just may have not seen in quite some time due to the nasty weather. Well the Seaforth Stars are giving you a fantastic opportunity to get your friends and neighbours together.....

This coming Saturday is Minor Hockey Day in Seaforth, in a Big, Big way. We are starting the day off with a BANG! at 2 p.m. with the opening game of the Juveniles OMHA quarter finals series against Coldwater, with game 2 to be played only hours later at 8:45 that same night. The Atom Rep team will also be starting their OMHA quarter finals series with Beeton right after the Juveniles' first game.

With three very big and very important OMHA games going on, the teams have gotten together and will be offering some special deals at the door. Both teams will also be offering 50/50 draws as well as plans for some other draws and special surprises. Currently, the Juveniles have lined up some very special local talent to sing O' Canada to start the second game. If you wish to purchase a pass for all 3 games they will be available for just $10.

Throughout the afternoon and evening we will also have a "Blueline club" open in the main hall. The "club" will open at 1 p.m. and remain open till 1 a.m. with music provided and food available for purchase. This is being operated by the Juvenile families.

The fun does not stop there, after the Atoms are done and while we wait for the Juveniles' second game we have a full line of games scheduled with our Girls teams. All of our teams have been doing exceptionally well this year and they planned an evening full of games starting at 5 pm with the Atom Girls vs Petrolia, followed by the Bantam and Midget Girls games.

The evening will then conclude with the Juveniles' second game as these two teams tangle again in a rematch of the day's earlier contest. With two games between these two teams in such a short period of time, you can be confident that the second game will be a continuation of the energy and excitement from the first game.

The day's schedule is:

2 p.m.

 Juveniles vs Coldwater

OMHA quarter finals, Game #1

4 p.m.

 Atom Rep vs Beeton

OMHA quarter finals, Game #1

5 p.m.

 Atom Girls vs Petrolia

6 p.m.

 Bantam Girls vs Mooretown

Provincial play-downs, Game #4

7:30 p.m.

 Midget Girls vs Lambton Shores

The day promises to be full of fun with lots of events and not just great hockey but a great way to spend a Saturday with your friends, family and neighbours. Our teams love the energy provided by the fans, so bring your noise makers, cheer on the teams and have some fun. Although winter in Seaforth tends to keep us indoors, we want you to come on out this Saturday: take in some hockey and have some fun (the heaters will be on to keep you toasty warm). The teams are pumped for these big games but having YOU in the stands will make a difference!

See you there!   GO STARS GO!!!!
