$26,000 available to eligible Players - Coaches - Trainers - Officials
Submitted By Craig Metzger on Sunday, February 8, 2009
The 2009 OHF Bursary Program has been announced and will provide $26,000 in financial assistance to OHF registered participants including players, coaches, trainers, and officials.

Since its establishment in 1996, the OHF Bursary Program has distributed more than $155,000 to over 170 post secondary students across Ontario. The program was established to provide financial assistance to registered participants to help offset the cost of post secondary education.  Each year, the OHF awards bursaries to outstanding young people who display an incredible amount of commitment both at the arena and in the classroom. All students who are enrolled or plan to enroll in a Canadian post secondary institution and are members of the OHF are eligible to receive bursary funds. The bursary recipients are determined on the basis of academic achievements, hockey involvement and community involvement.

This year, the OHF Bursary Program will provide $26,000 in financial assistance to OHF registered participants including players, coaches, trainers, and officials.  More information on the OHF Bursary Program, including eligibility requirements and applications, are available on the OHF website at www.ohf.on.ca.

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is the largest of the 13 Hockey Canada branches with over 215,000 registered participants.  The Federation governs amateur male hockey from Kingston to Wawa and amateur female hockey in the entire Province of Ontario.  The OHF is comprised of seven Member Partners:  Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario (Alliance), Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA), Ontario Hockey Association (OHA), Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA).
