Power Skating Returns to Seaforth Arena
Power skating sessions will be offered at the Seaforth Arena this coming August and September. Registration for these sessions will occur in conjunction with Minor Hockey registration on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Kathy McLlwain from Power Blades Skating School will be the instructor. For those familiar with Kathy, you'll be aware that she has a focused, no nonsense style that motivates her skaters to achieve results. Her skaters definitely improve their performance.
Skaters will be assigned to one of the three sets based on ability with the initial categories being novice/atom, atom/peewee, and peewee/bantam. Skaters may be re-assigned after the first session to reflect skating ability and to balance numbers.
There will be three sets of sessions with each set consisting of one hour per week for six weeks. Sets are to begin August 25th and run to September 29th. Cost for a six week set is $80 and registration can be made at the Minor Hockey registration this Friday and Saturday at the arena. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis with limited spaces available.
As we need to ensure we have sufficient numbers to run the sessions people are encouraged to register now. Late registrants (i.e. after April 1st) may be subject to a $20 late fee. Those wishing to register for less than the six full sessions in a set may do so after April 1st at a cost of $20 per session, if there are spaces available.
Skating skills are the fundamental basis upon which the rest of the hockey skills are based. Power skating is an investment that not only increases players' ability but also their enjoyment of the game as they're more easily able to keep up with the game's flow. Please seriously consider enrolling your player in this program.
