Goalie Clinic for Mite to PeeWee Goalies Starting January 29th
Submitted By Craig Metzger on Saturday, January 21, 2012
Seaforth Minor Hockey is pleased to offer goalies age Mite to PeeWee a 6 week co-ed goalie clinic on Sunday mornings between 7:30 - 8:30 am starting Sunday, January 29th.

The clinic fee will be $60.00 payable to Seaforth Minor Hockey and will be run by Andrea Adam. Andrea is an accomplished goalie who has recently moved into the area and offered her services. She has been volunteering regularly with the PeeWee Girls team and has assisted a number of other goalies in our system.

Some of Andrea's hockey experience includes playing for 14 years in the Brantford area and was trained by:
Skating, Dan Mandich (Minnesota North Stars),
Goaltending, Greg Stephan (Detroit Red Wings),
Goaltending, Jeff Riese (Toronto Maple Leafs),
    Skating/plays Wayne Gretzky.
Andrea was featured on Hockey Night in Canada at age 10 and played Senior B (21 and over) at age 15. She won the team’s MVP for the year and was ranked top 3 goalie in Canada. Andrea went on to be the only woman playing in thee men’s University Senior B hockey league. She was offered a hockey scholarship to Harvard University and a tuition reimbursement to play for York University.

To kick off the on-ice clinic and support the development our coaches Seaforth Minor Hockey is pleased to offer all SMHA coaches and their bench staff a seminar on goalie development.

This coaching development opportunity will take place one evening in the coming week (date to be announced shortly) There is no charge for this development seminar. Coaches who attend will also be invited to attend the on-ice sessions to further their knowledge of goalie development and assist with the transfer of skills taught to their goalies at the clinic to ongoing practices.

If you would like more information on either the on ice goalie clinics or the coaches goalie development seminar, please contact Kent or Judy Wilson at 527-2610.
