
"Senior hockey is making its way back to Seaforth this fall.
The Huron East Centenaires have relocated from Goderich (formerly the Pirates) and are set to make their Huron East debut on Oct. 4 at the Seaforth and District Community Centres. The name “Centenaires” is the name that had been dedicated to the former Junior D team in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA), who played in Seaforth from 1975 through 2002. The team won the OHA Cup, the OHA's Junior D championship, in 1985-86.
The 2014/15 Huron East Centenaires will compete in a loop with Milverton, Tavistock, Monkton, Petrolia, Tillsonburg and the Clinton Radars. A team web-site is in process and you can follow us on twitter at @centshockey and on Facebook by searching “Huron East Centenaires SR AA Hockey Club”
The Centenaires season opener starts at 7:30 p.m. against the Milverton 4 Wheel Drives at the Seaforth arena onOct. 4. There will be a ceremonial puck drop, as well as a few in-game special events and a bar will be set up in the upstairs hall.
