It is important to note the time lines attached.  2018-2019 coaching applications will be accepted until March 31 2018.

The Seaforth & District Minor Hockey Association is now looking to continue building on the success of our Association with the commencement of the coach recruitment and selection process for the 2018-2019 season.

Seaforth Minor Hockey has a long tradition of building not only competitive but also championship winning teams as well as fostering an environment of learning, team-building, fun and hockey skills development. Seaforth Minor Hockey is built around a strong local community, enthusiastic players, and supportive families. But the largest and most important contributor is the role played by our coaches as the key to creating and providing the hockey experience so treasured by our players and families.

This year, Seaforth Minor Hockey will again utilize a Coach Selection Committee.  Heading the selection committee will be SMHA Coaching Development Director Mark Wilson. This committee's primary responsibility is finding and recommending the coaching candidates for our Head Coaching positions.

In addition to teaching hockey skills and developing the capacity to work together as a team, coaches create opportunities for young players to develop self-esteem, confidence and self-worth.   We know that the atmosphere on the bench and interpersonal skills coaches role model effect the messages our players internalize about themselves and this lasts much longer that the outcome of a particular game/series/season.  As such we take the selection process very seriously.

Thank-you to all coaching candidates for submitting their application and their interest in helping the young players of Seaforth Minor Hockey.
