From the first practice I knew that we had a well balanced team.
We had 11 hockey players this year.7 of the kids are NOT old enough to play Major Novice LL. They are playing against kids a year older. Remember that boys. Our team really came together during our first full ice games which was a tournament in Barrie. Eventually losing to the champs in OT during the semis. Entered another tournament in Embro and came up short in the finals to a faster team. We were 8-0 in our full ice WOAA regular season. 76 goals for 13 against0 penalty minutes. We had unfinished business to take care of in the playoffs, let’s just end it as we are the CHAMPS. During that 8-0 run we had the #2 leading scorer in the league. We had 4 kids in the top 35 of scoring. Cameron and Russell played hockey for the first time, Rowan and Jack were our veteran leaders and we wish them well in Atom next year.Mac, Deke, Steve, Kenny, Pat, Megan, I totally appreciate all your help, it means a lot. Jilly, thank you for all the behind the scene administration work and organizing.
