Tyke playoffs have begun....
Submitted By tcampbell on Friday, March 21, 2008
Can the Tyke Stars keep up their winning streak???  Finishing first in the regular season meant that the Tykes would face #2 Brussels in a best 2 out of 3 for the WOAA Tyke South Division Championship.  The series opened on Tuesday, March 18th at 6:30 p.m. in Brussels.

"Flying Fin" got our first goal by placing the puck into the left corner. Another top shelf move. Why change a good thing Logan.  A great set up by "Resiliant Riley" to "Rockin Ryan" for a goal was very close, but alas the goalie got in the way. Great team effort. Olivia made up for it by taking a pass from "Lightning Looby" during a mess in front of the net and tucking in our second goal. I'm sure the goalie didn't see it coming. The next face off was won by "Rockin Ryan" and he took his chance to skate a breakaway goal for our 3rd goal.  The fans hardly had time to finish cheering from this goal when "Flying Fin" scored our last goal - three goals by three different players in about a minute!

This was a "nail biting" game that had the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout. The game was much closer than the final score of Stars 4 - Bulls 1 since were it not for the sixty seconds in the second period when the Stars scored three straight goals in one shift, it was anybody's game.  Congratulations, Stars! Win one more game and the championship is yours.
