Peewee Reps win their round robin
Submitted By bmorton on Tuesday, January 26, 2010
After playing a round robin with Minto and Wingham, Seaforth is moving on to play Bruce Peninsula with a berth in the OMHA Quarterfinals at stake.  Bruce Peninsula beat the Durham Huskies by scores of 6-1 and 5-0 in their first round playoff.  Seaforth completed the round robin with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss, Minto finished 2nd with a record of 2 and 2; Wingham finished with a record of 1 and 3.

Seaforth started the round robin defeating a much improved Wingham team 5 - 1 in Seaforth.  The second game of the series was played in Harriston against the strong Minto Mad Dogs.  Coming out with a 3-2 victory, Seaforth knew they would be in a tough when they played again.  The next day, Seaforth made the journey to Wingham to face the always difficult Wingham Peewee team.  While the score, 7-2 in Seaforth's favour doesn't show it, Wingham competed from the first drop of the puck until the final whistle.  Saturday brought another game with the Minto Mad Dogs.  In a game that was filled with penalites, 4 shorthanded goals, lots of chances and some great stops by both goalies, Seaforth came out on the short end of a 5 - 4 score.  Sitting on a record of 3 wins and 1 loss, Seaforth needed some help in order to secure a berth in the next round.  That help came when Wingham travelled to Minto and defeated the Mad Dogs by a score of 3 - 1.

Seaforth takes on the Silver Stick Regional Champion Bruce Peninsula Wild with the winner moving onto the OMHA quarter finals.  The first game goes this Friday January 29th at 8:00 pm with the second one in Lion's Head Saturday Jan 30th at 7:00 pm.
